Doritos
Doritos were born at Disneyland's Casa de Fritos in the early 1960s. A restaurant manager noticed the popularity of fried tortillas and started adding taco seasoning to them, which led to the creation of Doritos.
Frito-Lay eventually took over production, launching Doritos nationally in 1966. With over 100 different flavors over time, including some wild and unique ones like Late-Night Cheeseburger and Ranch-Dipped Chicken Wings.
The name of these addictive chips is derived from the word "Doradito," meaning "little bits of gold." Maybe Doritos are more precious than we thought.
